Through our simple, yet effective literacy programme we believe our vision for South African children can become a reality.
Currently 1 124 volunteers deliver Shine Literacy programmes to 7 413 children in 77 schools across four provinces.
Our 2019 results show that whereas only 17.8% of children were On Level or Near Level at the start of Grade 2, after six months’ participation in the Shine Literacy Hour 64.5% of children were On Level or Near Level.
In 2017 and 2018, our Family Literacy Workshops reached 1 713 parents and caregivers across three provinces.
